Quilters Group
10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Tuesday, February 26th, 10:00am. We're starting the New Year with new projects. Looking forward to Easter we have patterns for several beautiful wall hangings for the Sanctuary. Help us choose patterns, fabrics and sewing techniques. These can be made during our monthly sessions or at home if that is easier. Also, we need some special comfort quilts. Come and discuss the needs and how they can be filled.

Do you know the history behind the comfort quilt projects that we work on? We’d love to share our story & projects with you on the last Tuesday of each month. Join us at 10:00am on February 26th and we will show you what we are working on.

From the September Nexus

We are so excited to get started!  Our Staff: Kathy, Sara, Hilary, Silvia, Espie & Jessica have our room clean and ready to start a new preschool year.  Classes start on September 6th & 7th.

September is going to be full of exciting new adventures and    getting to know each other. We will tour the church, learn our classroom rules, meet new friends and try lots of new and exciting things.

Please stop by and say “HI” to the Teachers ….. They are anxious to get to know all of our families.

If you have friends that have children between the ages of 3-5, please let them know about our wonderful     program. We have a few openings left and would love to show them our   program. We have a “reward” for enrolled families who refer new children to our program, talk to Ms. Kathy for details.  “Like” us on Facebook to follow our adventures.

Preschool Report 2015

St. Andrew’s Preschool is a mission of St. Andrew’s UMC.  At full enrollment we can have up to 68 children from our surrounding community.  Currently, we have only 52 children enrolled.  We offer 3 half day classes throughout the week; 2 for children aged 4 and above (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) and 1 for children age 3 and above (Tuesdays and Thursdays).  We welcome children and families of all faiths and/or no faith to attend.  We employ 6 staff to assist in the nurture and care of our children. All of our staff continues to take classes in Early Childhood Education to keep us up to date on the new and innovate ways to help our children succeed and grow.

Currently, the Preschool pays its own payroll, orders and pays for its toys and supplies and offers snacks to the children enrolled daily.  Year to date the Preschool has given the church $4,000.00 for building usage and $600.00 for insurance costs.  We are also currently offering 3 partial scholarships to families in need.

It is both a blessing and a pleasure to be a part of the growth and development of 52 children and their families. We are able to touch the lives of these families and share the kind, gentle and nurturing ways of our Christian faith.
