Membership Care Committee 2015

The purposes of the Membership Care Committee (MCC) are to surround church members with encouragement, support and the warmth of belonging; to enhance communication among members; and to welcome visitors and newcomers.  It is the responsibility of MCC members to be aware of both the joys and concerns of church members and to be available to assist them in any way that is desired and needed.  MCC members visit shut-ins, make phone calls, send cards, notes and offer physical help (i.e. food, drivers) depending on circumstances.  St. Andrew's is a praying church.  MCC instigates The Prayer Chain which involves forwarding telephone messages for prayer requests.  This past year MCC and Fellowship jointly sponsored a Drop-In Coffee to provide an informal opportunity for church members, newcomers and those who no longer drive to just chat and get to know one another more fully. MCC also took Communion to shut-ins and hopes to extend this service in the coming year.

MCC strives to fulfill the urgings of our Methodist founder, John Wesley:

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can,

In all the ways you can, in all the places you can,

At all the times you can, to all the people you can,

As long as ever you can.
