Dear St. Andrew’s Congregation,

As you are well aware, we are experiencing a new and unfamiliar crisis. Unfortunately, we are not able to meet during our regular Sunday worship times, and we want to keep you apprised of what’s going on at the church. The building remains open for drop-ins and phone calls. Kathy and Pastor Denise are answering your calls. While it is advisable to stay as close to home as possible, Pastor Denise is available for consultations (phoning ahead is advisable). We are not aware of any church member being exposed to the virus and we urge you to follow the advice of the CDC to practice safe hygiene and avoid personal contact as much as possible. If you need help, please contact the church and we will try to assist you.

While the Bishop’s advisory was to close the church for only 2 weeks, the Church Council has decided to close the church at least through the end of April. The Pre-School is conducting brief classes 3 times a week on-line with the preschoolers. This has been received enthusiastically.

During the closure, we are making plans for online worship. The Church Cooperative, consisting of the seven Methodist Churches in the area, is preparing a Sunday service to be broadcast 10:00 am on Sunday mornings on Facebook. In addition, we will send out a link to a recorded version of this worship service. Check your e-mail for the link or visit our webpage http://laceysaumc.com/. Please contact the church if you think that we need your email or if you don’t have email or access to Facebook.

Beginning next Thursday, the Bread of Life small group will meet online. We know that several of you do not have access to a computer, smart phone, or are knowledgeable about Facebook and we want to hear from you to see if we can make other arrangements. The attendees of this small group will receive a separate memo about our online meeting. Over the next few weeks we will be mailing out updates and information on what’s going on at the church to everyone.

We are concerned for your health and safety and pray that you will remain cautious and calm. We want to stay connected as a Church and we will get through this together. Pray with us. God is present.

03.23.2020 Email earlier in the day -

It is with a sad and broken heart that I share that our brother-in-Christ, Dan Dickey, has been placed on hospice care. Dan has been dealing with leukemia and his condition is no longer treatable. He is resting at home and in good spirits. Please keep Dan and Amy in your prayers during this difficult time.

Please also pray for healing for Lois Brighten. Lois was in a very bad car accident and is in St. Peter's Hospital room #507. She'd love to hear from you. Please call St. Peter's Hospital at 360-491-9480 and ask for room 507.

Please add Robin Eagen to your prayers as well. Robin is at home and is very sick. Please hold her in your prayers that she recovers quickly.
